North & North East Region
WELCOME to Messenger's Don't be a drop out campaign.
Like teachers, parents and community leaders, Messenger believes education and training are key to a better future for our community.
Research shows that those of us who stay at school or in training are more likely to be earning a living and be healthy happy residents.
Latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show the number of northern students staying in school to finish Year 12 is well below the state average.
Each week for the rest of the year, we will post a video of a local person telling us why they think education and training is important for creating a better future for our community.
If you know of someone who should be featured on a video, or if you would like to have your say on education, email us or post your comments online on any of our stories or Sam's blog.
We look forward to hearing what you have to say.
We welcome your comments on this story. Comments are submitted for possible publication on the condition that they may be edited. Please provide your full name.
